Flow Velocity of a Vacuum-Assisted Toilet


As part of an effort to understand the sound levels produced by a vacuum-assisted toilet, the velocity of the flow as it exited the toilet was studied to determine the relationship between flow velocity and sound pressure level. A comparison will be made between the flow velocities in the original design as well as in an improved design that produces lower sound levels in an attempt to determine the explanation for why the improved design emits sound waves differently from the original design. Research and analysis are partially complete and results will be discussed.
