Enhancing terahertz generation from laser-induced plasma
Terahertz (THz) radiation has varied applications in industry and research. Among its uses are biomedical imaging, surveillance and spectroscopy. Prior work has shown that two-color generation of laser-induced plasma can be used to produce strong THz, thus it has become of greater interest to researchers. In our experimentation, we are applying a third beam of light that is usually discarded in the process of two-color generation. The third beam of light can be used to enhance the plasma-generated THz.
