Title
The Spatial Distribution of Heat-related Illnesses across Houston, TX
Abstract
Heat impacts various aspects of human health. In this study, we analyze how illnesses, especially heat-related illnesses, are spatially distributed across Houston, Texas. We use data from the Houston Department of Health which contains information on illnesses, location, and death dates for over 400,000 people in Houston, Texas. The goal of this research is to make connections between the diseases such as which diseases appear together, and which regions are most susceptible to certain illnesses. By determining which locations in Houston are at risk for certain illnesses, communities will know where to allocate resources to prevent such illnesses.
