Title

An Analysis of BYU Men's Soccer Shot Selection Efficiency

Abstract

Sports analytics has an increasingly larger role to play in the sporting world.  Our researchis focused on the BYU men's soccer team.  We have been collecting data from the BYU men’s soccer team to answer various questions about efficiency.  BYU has recently switched leagues from the Premier Development League (PDL) to the Collegiate Club division.  Our analysis is focused on determining what types of shots are effective and which locations are optimal.  We also examine the difference in BYU’s shot efficiency between the PDL and the Collegiate Club division.
