BYU MEN’S TENNIS
The BYU Men’s Tennis coaching staff knows that most points are either won or lost within the first four shots. Therefore, they are focused on knowing how to improve the player’s chances of winning these short points. Our task was to identify which point-by-point factors have the most impact on a short rally length. To do this we used different regression techniques in R to create a model that shows which factors contribute to winning a short point. We were able to utilize past and present data to inform coaches of ways to improve the team’s likelihood of winning the short rally.
