Comparison of the quantum simple harmonic oscillator and quantum angular momentum spectra.
The quantum simple harmonic oscillator and quantum angular momentum spectraare both found to be equidistant whether derived algebraically or analytically. Both spectra are bounded from below but only angular momentum is bounded from above. We show how the equidistant and bounded nature of the spectra arises in both cases. We then study the physical interpretation of the difference between these two systems.
