Title

Human-Robot Cooperation in a Resource Sharing Scenario

Abstract

Humans and robots will begin to interact more as robots permeate society. To make robots safe and effective they will need to quickly figure out cooperative behavior when human and robot preferences are not fully aligned. We’ve developed a robot system meant  to handle such scenarios. Through user studies, we evaluate how our robot develops cooperative relationships in contrast to people. Our robot system learns distinct strategies from humans, however, through communication signals the robot can largely overcome  those differences.
