Survey of SPF Policy Adherence
Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is an email-authentication technique which is used to prevent spammers from sending messages on behalf of your domain. We have researched specific elements of, and techniques to survey, the SPF conformance of hundreds of thousands of mail transfer agents, while minimizing spam. After analyzing these results, we would like to offer a new technique for acquiring SPF and Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) research data, without the possibility of spam email. We also tested various aspects of SPF resolution and the interconnectedness of domain name system (DNS) resolvers used by mail servers of different domains.
