Title

Family Connections: A Graph Theoretic Approach

Abstract

Graph theory deepens our understanding of human relationships through the analysis of social networks. The Family Tree is a network which provides information on both the genetic and social connections of individuals, however not much is known concerning its structure. We will use several measures of connectedness to understand the extent of tree-like structures in family networks and discuss opportunities for further research.
