Second Quantization of SU(3) Yang-Mills Hamiltonian
We work to second quantize the Hamiltonian for SU(3) Yang-Mills theory, which is foundational to quantum chromodynamics and the mass gap Millennium Problem. For the SU(3) gauge group, a solution to the mass gap problem would consist of showing that glueballs have a lower mass bound. By projecting onto occupation two free gluons, we hope to determine whether or not there is a gap present in the spectrum and better understand the effects of gluon self-interaction.
