Exploring the Scope of a Bimetallic-Catalyzed Ketone Arylation Reaction
Our group discovered a bimetallic palladium complex which allows for 1,3- disubstituted naphthalene synthesis through ketone arylation and cyclization. The reaction involves a phosphinoimidazole ligand previously discovered by our research group which binds to palladium chloride, creating a bi-palladium complex. We searched for new substrates, optimized the substrates we identified, and obtained publication-quality HNMR data for the substrates we identified.
