Electron Motion in a High Intensity Laser Focus
We model the motion of free electrons in the focus of a high-intensity laser focus and calculate the emitted light from these electrons. By measuring this scattered light, we hope to characterize the field structure in the laser focus. In this presentation, we detail the computational model used to calculate laser scattering. We use the Singh model for the electric and magnetic fields of the laser focus and the Lorentz force combined relativistic mechanics to compute the electron motion. With this motion we use Maxwell’s equations to compute the scattered light field.
