Developing tools in LabVIEW for Time Reversal
Acoustic time-reversal uses impulse responses to focus a signal to a single point in space. The focusing signal-to-noise ratio can be improved by using more sources and by using longer impulse responses. Under typical conditions, this tightening of the focus is limited by the central wavelength of the signal. However, focusing far smaller than a wavelength has shown by other researchers to be possible under special conditions. The presence of many resonators in the near field of the source/detector has been shown to create a focus with dimensions much smaller than a wavelength. This talk presents the software tools that are being developed in LabVIEW as part of a larger project to investigate super resolution with time reversal.
