Coloring Geographic Maps Part 3

Abstract

After computing the chromatic polynomial for the real world graphs or the counties of Utah and the lower 48 United States, we set out to expand our interlocking wheels theorem by finding the chromatic polynomial for any number of interlocking wheels in the web. While this has proven to be quite difficult and that goal has not yet been met, we did discover a new and very short proof that Apollonian Networks are uniquely 4 colorable and I present that proof here.
