Balmer-line Photometric narrow-band observations of Open Star Clusters
Joner & Hintz (2015) presented a set of photometric narrow-band filters centered on the wavelength of the first Hydrogen-Balmer transition. The difference of the observed apparent magnitude of an astronomical object of these filters is known as the H-alpha color, which has been related to equivalent width of the Balmer-transition spectral line and effective temperature of the object. This project focuses on the observations of open star clusters using these filters. We present advantages in observing open star clusters in these filters found, as well as current plans to better calibrate and test the capabilities of these filters.
