FTIR Spectroscopy of Bimetallic Catalysts
We have used time resolved FTIR spectroscopy to attempt to determine the catalytic mechanism of a copper iron bimetallic catalyst. We have measured the catalytic process on several time scales, including: seconds, milliseconds, and microseconds. We are now working on getting data on a timescale of hours. Our data so far has indicated that the previously proposed mechanism was likely incorrect and it supports our new proposed mechanism.
