Multi-User Swarm Interaction
We are working on developing a robot swarm simulation using Unity with a goal of determining the effect of multiple human inputs on the swarm. Specifically, we hope to find how well the virtual robotic swarm and the human subjects accomplish goals in a dynamic environment. We are implementing an authoritative hierarchy of user inputs to simulate the same working dynamic of a bee swarm. The program simulates a spatial environment, with obstacles, a hub that gathers information from the robots, and dispersed sites that have a numerical quality attribute assigned to each one of them. A user study is planned which will contribute to outlining the decision-making algorithms of bee swarms during the nest-site selection process through a pattern of multiple human to robot interactions.
