Beyond the Limits of Classical Measurement
Measurement is a key element of any scientific endeavor. The greater the accuracy of that measurement, the greater the information that can be drawn from it. In a classical measuring scheme there exists a base level of quantum noise which is unavoidable and scales with a factor of 1/sqrt(N), where N is the number of measurements. I show how, by employing quantum techniques, it is possible to improve the scaling factor of the quantum noise to 1/N.
