The Wilf-Zeilberger Method

Abstract

The Wilf—Zeilberger method is an algorithmic approach to proving identities for hypergeometric series, by finding a recurrence relation satisfied by the terms in the series and producing a rational function that verifies the recurrence relation. The method can be generalized to q-hypergeometric series and used to prove q-series identities such at the Jacobi triple product or the Rogers—Ramanujan identities.
