Title

Oxidative Dehydrogentation of Ethane to Ethylene

Abstract

Ethylene is an important raw material in many industries. It is currently produced by steam cracking and fluid catalytic cracking. Both of which require extremely high temperatures, which is expensive and wasteful. Research has been focused on reducing the temperatures as well as using green chemicals. One such green chemical is CO2. Our reaction uses CO2 as a soft oxidant to supply oxygen to our catalyst. The catalysts that we focus on are Cr and Mn supported by SiO2 and Al2O3. We focus on these specific catalysts because they have been shown to have the best catalytic compatability for our reaction.
