Title

Overview of Topological Data Analysis

Abstract

Topological data analysis (TDA) is a recent field focused on studying the shape of data, with initial pioneering work published in 2002 and 2005. It has grown rapidly while proving its usefulness in applications as varied as complex networks, image analysis, graph reconstruction, materials science, and fractal geometry. In this talk I will give a brief overview of TDA and discuss my work related to its main tool, persistent homology.
