Stability of Traveling Waves in Non-Is
We discuss our numerical study of the stability of traveling waves in non-isentropic magnetohydrodynamics (MHD). In particular, we use the Evans function, an analytic function whose zeroes correspond to eigenvalues of the linearized PDE, to determine stability of MHD waves. We describe a linear boundary value solver that we developed in order to assist in computer-aided proof of stability of MHD waves.
