Quantum Interference in Hyperfine Levels of Ytterbium
We report the development of a model for quantum interference in the 6s2 1S0 – 6s6p 1Po1 transition of Ytterbium-171 and Ytterbium-173. We illustrate how variations in the magnetic sublevel distributions alter the strength of the quantum interference. We show that previous measurements and preliminary results are in reasonable agreement with this model.
