Title

Identifying optimal individual preparation for better player performance

Abstract

This project seeks to assess how practice and player preparation affect  game performance for players on the women’s basketball team. Players completed an online survey each day after practice, answering questions about practice difficulty, previous night’s sleep, and injuries among other subjects. We analyzed the relationship between practice difficulty and team performance as well as the effect of individual preparation on player efficiency in games. We found indications of a relationship between practice difficulty and game performance or injury for certain players. We believe continuing this daily survey may well be useful in identifying optimal individual preparation for better player performance.
