The problem of spam is worse now than it has ever been. Sender Policy Framework (SPF) has been designed and implemented to eliminate spam. The goal of this research is to analyze the implementation of SPF throughout the top domains throughout the world. Understanding and observing how SPF has been deployed will provide valuable knowledge as to the effectiveness of the protocol in real implementation. Our research consists of performing large scale evaluation on top domains according to our specified custom SPF tests. The result and analysis of the SPF validation tests will shed light on how domains are actually evaluating the spam prevention protocol. Based on those results we can provide recommendations for effective use of SPF.
