Title

Experiential Learning, Uniting Teachers and Students: Observations from my journey from Student to Teaching Assistant

Abstract

To learn and to teach, are the core of the human experience. Yet, often there exists a divergence or disconnect between the student’s learning and the educator’s teaching. Having engaged now in both the learning and the teaching ends of the education process, my action research project presents for consideration, observations intended to help close the gap between student and teacher. This union is centered in experiential learning and the molding of problem solvers. Helping students balance the seeking of curriculum relevance and real world application, with the cultivation of just the simple joy of learning new concepts. We need to learn to inspire and shape a student growth mind set that transforms students who merely solve problems into genuine innovators of solutions.
